Ms. Westfall has extensive experience in environmental and real-estate matters for industrial, commercial, and residential properties. She specializes in the acquisition of distressed industrial properties, including power plants and landfills. Ms. Westfall analyzes potential environmental concerns, interfaces with government agencies, drafts contracts and agreements, and assists with site-abatement and remediation management. She holds a master’s degree in environmental science/hydrogeology and routinely provides cost-savings to her clients by supplying detailed advice on local, state and federal laws that affect the acquisition, operation, and disposition of industrial sites. She also has experience identifying, analyzing, and negotiating easement, boundary, and other real-property disputes. She regularly assists her clients in identifying and obtaining required permits from the N.Y.S. Department of Environmental Conservation, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Federal Aviation Administration, N.Y.S. Department of Labor and local agencies or governments, where appropriate.

Ms. Westfall also holds a master’s degree in environmental science/hydrogeology from the SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry. There, she developed and taught a graduate Water Law course that provided a unique opportunity for environmental-science students to understand the statutory and regulatory requirements that will drive their future work, as well as for law students to understand the science behind environmental laws. She also lectures regularly on environmental-impact-analysis issues.
